The WFI Estate Office
An independent, private organization operating to execute and administer the estate of William F. Irvine.
Many of the assets within the estate will eventually be transferred to the I.C. Foundation, a private charitable foundation operating in Canada.

Joseph H. Cass
Co-Executor

Joe Cass received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1967, following five years of articling with several public accounting firms. He became a partner in Resnick Wintraub in 1970, and later joined Mintz & Partners as a Partner in 1981. During his tenure at Mintz & Partners, Joe played a pivotal role in the firm’s growth, expanding from 40 to over 200 professionals by 1993. His practice focused on audit, tax, and estate planning for a wide range of clients. In 1999, Joe launched his own practice, servicing clients until 2019, when he merged his firm with K&P CPAs under the Abacus Group brand.
Joe continued his hands-on approach, maintaining close relationships with his clients and providing practical advice grounded in decades of experience. Guiding his clients through tax and estate planning, business acquisitions and divestitures, and serving as a trusted advisor, he is valued for his personal approach and for being the steady voice of reason. Joe transitioned into a Senior Advisor for K&P CPAs, the firm’s successor, where he continues to support clients and the firm's team with his knowledge and guidance.
In 2021, Joe was named executor for the estate of William F. Irvine, and has since established the WFI Estate Office to oversee and administer the estate, as well as being named the CEO of the York Group of Companies.
Randy Cass

Randy Cass is the former CEO and founder of Nest Wealth, a pioneering fintech company that transformed wealth management through innovative technology. Randy led the company to significant growth and success before its acquisition in early 2024 by Objectway, a global leader in wealth, investment, and asset management solutions.
With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Randy has a diverse and impressive academic background. He holds an LLB from the University of Toronto Law School, an HBA and MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder. This combination of legal, business, and financial expertise has positioned him as a thought leader in the fintech space. Randy’s entrepreneurial journey includes founding multiple successful ventures, including First Coverage, a financial information network for institutional investors, which was successfully sold prior to his work with Nest Wealth.
In 2024, Randy was named co-executor for the estate of William F. Irvine, and began working with Joe Cass to oversee and administer the estate.

Martha Cass
Vice President, Estate & Foundation Operations

Martha Cass is an accomplished executive with decades of experience working with Fortune 500 CEOs and senior leadership teams. In 2024, Martha exited from her role as Vice President of Finance Business Operations at PayPal, where she served in senior operations, human resources and communications roles for 14 years. While at the company, in addition to her operational roles she was proud to also lead the company’s global employee resource group for women. Martha also spearheaded innovative initiatives including PayPal’s employee financial wellness program and the company’s impact investing program, which deployed $530 million to address the racial wealth gap in the United States.
Martha serves as a director on the foundation boards of Holy Blossom Temple, Canada’s largest reform synagogue and Women’s College Hospital, a world leader in health for women, health equity and health system solutions. In 2025 she also joined the WFI Estate Office to support the co-executors and to establish the I.C. Foundation. Martha now also serves as the President of the I.C. Foundation.
